Norfolk & Western 611

Norfolk & Western 611—known as the “Spirit of Roanoke”—is one of the most celebrated steam locomotives in American rail history. Built in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1950, the streamlined J-class 4-8-4 is now owned and preserved by the Virginia Museum of Transportation.

This collection follows 611 from preparation and anticipation through the power, smoke, and spectacle of its return to the rails.

Produced under license from the Virginia Museum of Transportation; a portion of all sales from this collection supports the Museum.
